Kagiso Lerutla nominated for 2022 CFO Awards

The City of Ekurhuleni group CFO joins the list of nominees competing for the 2022 CFO of the Year title.

Kagiso Lerutla has been nominated for the 2022 CFO Awards for his work as the group CFO of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

He joins the list of nominees who will be competing for the prestigious CFO of the Year title, at the annual “Oscars for South African finance professionals”, which is now entering its eighth year.

During the prestigious awards ceremony, CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions are recognised and rewarded for their outstanding performance and leadership.

Kagiso was appointed as the City of Ekurhuleni’s group CFO on 30 May 2019 at just 33, and also serves as the city’s head of supply chain management. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, with a BCompt degree from the University of Limpopo, and a BCom Accounting Honours degree from the University of Johannesburg.

Kagiso joined the city in 2014 as a divisional head of governance and compliance within the finance department. He worked in the office of the Auditor General of South Africa as an assistant audit manager after completing his articles there.
