Simon Adams nominated for 2021 CFO Awards

Simon has been nominated for his work as the CFO of Nando’s South Africa.

Nando’s South Africa CFO Simon Adams has been nominated for the 2021 CFO Awards.

At the annual “Oscars for South African finance professionals”, which is now entering its seventh year, CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions are recognised and rewarded for their outstanding performance and leadership.

Simon received a BCom honours degree in accounting and qualified as a CA(SA) from the University of Johannesburg.

After serving his articles for three years at RSM Betty & Dickson in Johannesburg he served as an audit senior at the company. He then moved to Anglo American, where he served as financial accountant, followed by Japan Tobacco International, where he served as a financial accountant.

In 2009 he was appointed the commercial manager of AVI before joining Mondelēz International in 2011 as a FP&A category finance manager. He was promoted to head of finance for the company’s Kraft Foods Kenya division in 2012 and to finance business lead of central and east Africa in 2014.

Before joining Nando’s as CFO in February 2017, Simon served as the CFO of south, east and central Africa at BIC.
