Business expert Terry Moore examined the historical basis for what he called "an age of radical uncertainty" and provided advice for attendees on surviving a rapidly changing environment and disruption during a presentation at the Finance Indaba Africa 2016. While bemoaning the fact that risk had been passed onto employees, he also presented opportunities for financial executives and businesses in the seeming chaos.
The presentation was facilitated by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), which bills itself as "the foremost accountancy body in South Africa and one of the leading Institutes in the world", playing an influential role in a highly dynamic local business sector. Its mission is to promote and lead the chartered accountancy profession so as to create sustainable value for its members and other stakeholders.

Terry cautioned that disruptive forces were to be the order of the day for the foreseeable future and cautioned attendees against being reckless with spending:
"We have no idea where and who our competitors are anymore. In the past, the simplicity of doing business was that we knew who we were dealing with. Right now we don't know because we've had to deal with international people because of globalism. For the lucky few there will be jobs, but the future will be full of long periods of unemployment and job losses. As the competition for jobs intensifies it will be harder to stand out from the crowd.""
The Finance Indaba is the biggest annual event on the continent for financial managers and specialists who are seeking partnerships to drive progress. Thousands of delegates will gain valuable insights into realising financial performance and growth, becoming more efficient and accessing funding, among a host of other opportunities from leading players in financial services.
