Out of the 320 teams representing 1,278 aspirants from 53 universities in 25 countries across five continents, the Project Board of the CFO Case Study Competition has announced the top 12 teams. Valentine Nti (pictured), the CFO Case Study Competition project executive director, said:

"Besides the overwhelming uptake and response rate, we were blown away by the degree of knowledge and skill the aspirants displayed to tackle the case study… Overall, we are delighted by what these leading universities/schools of business in South Africa and around the world are doing to build our next generation of CFOs and business leaders."

Independent external examiners worked rigorously, evaluating all the submitted reports against the key competencies of a modern-day CFO and business leader to help select the top 12 finalists. The 12 teams have been invited to submit a video link of their 15-minute PowerPoint stage presentation from which the best six teams will then be announced on 30 June, 2016.

These final six teams will be invited on an all-expenses-paid trip to Johannesburg for the chance to be crowned The CharterQuest Future CFOs & Business Leaders in October 2016 at the Finance Indaba Africa Expo, with an opportunity to open the JSE Market on 18 October, also blowing the famous Kudu horn to signal Africa's premier global case study challenge has produced its first champions.
