UP lecturer Elize Kirsten named 2016 CFO Brand Ambassador

Elize Kirsten (pictured), a Lecturer at the University of Pretoria, in the Department of Financial Management, has been chosen as the 2016 CFO Brand Ambassador in the CFO Case Study Competition, winning R10,000 in the process. One of Kirsten’s teams, Team UP 116, is in the Top 6 heading to the semi-finals at the JSE on 13 October 2016.

Kirsten said of her achievement:

"The CFO Case Study Competition was a great learning experience for my students. Not only could they apply their technical knowledge to a real-world scenario, it was also an opportunity to develop and showcase their leadership skills and the ability to work in a team. I will definitely encourage my students to enter The CFO Case Study Competition next year!"

Valentine Nti, the Project Executive Director, offered Kirsten his congratulations, adding:

"We have just entered Round 2 (public votes) of the competition. The top six teams have submitted three-minute, two-part videos introducing their teams, why they entered, and setting out their hopes and dreams, including how The CFO Case Study Competition has and could assist their future careers."

These videos serve to convince the public why they should vote for their respective teams, and are now live on broadcast and social media, and will be for the next 60-plus days, giving the public time to vote. The team with the highest votes from the public will earn two points to their credit going into Round 3. Click here to view all videos and vote.

The winning team will be announced at the global finals on 14 October, with an opportunity to open the JSE Market on 18 October, also blowing the famous Kudu horn to signal Africa's premier global case study challenge has produced its first champions.
